Whooppee!
Me and my boyfriend accidentally happened upon the local farmers' market today, which was really nice (even if we didn't get to look around). I would like to take a longer look at it soon.
I finally repotted some of my houseplants - a pilea that was in a planter-within-a-planter situation (just not my favorite, visually), a ZZ plant that was starting to outgrow its original plastic planter, and a parlor palm that got root rot. Hopefully the parlor palm survives. I took some online advice and the new pot is smaller, though I'm keeping the old one around just in case. We're getting some small gnats from this, so I had to put one of those sticky bug traps out too. At least this is indoors.
I also recently learned our air purifier has a "pre-filter" that needs to be cleaned. In the 3 ish years we've lived here, neither of us knew that had to be cleaned, so it was pretty dusty as you might imagine. This is also how I realized I don't have a vacuum attachment with a brush small enough to do this sort of thing...
In other news, our area is plagued by Spotted Lanternflies. They're kind of cute. It's a shame they're invasive. I still don't kill them, though. It's partly because killing bugs is something that deeply grosses me out, but it's also a principle thing. More on that here.
