Obsidian is great
Hi, it's been a while.
I changed my primary notes app from OneNote to Obsidian -- it was a bit ago, but I think it was because Microsoft was trying to use OneNote contents for AI? Anyway, Obsidian definitely has a steep learning curve, but I'm enjoying it. I love looking at the network of links between my pages. Importing my OneNote files was, for the most part, pretty easy. Some images got messed up for some reason.
I also switched from FireFox to the FireFox fork, Zen Browser. This was also because of AI shenanigans -- Mozilla said they were going to add more AI stuff and it's opt-out instead of opt-in. Annoying. I had strong reservations about Zen at first, but it's actually quite nice. I don't have to worry about losing my tabs like I did before, since it's carried over when I turn my laptop on and open the program. Also, I can still send myself tabs from my mobile FireFox browser -- which may be not great for privacy, but god, I use it often. It'd be nice if Zen manages to make their own mobile browser at some point.
The job promotion was naught but a dream. Very disappointing. I need a full time job, so now that the holiday season is over, I need to look in earnest. It's been incredibly disheartening thus far, to be honest. I'm going to have to do some witchcraft to find another job, I think. My parents definitely do not understand since they are immigrants and haven't looked for jobs in a few decades.
